Inter-Diocesan Clergy Dialogue 2026

“My wife and I have five children, and together our family has come to believe that the Catholic Church is the Church established by Jesus. Coming from Mennonite and evangelical backgrounds, we knew very little about the Catholic faith. Two years ago, I discovered a Catholic podcast that explained things I had never heard before. I decided to explore the faith for myself, became convinced of its truth, and by God’s grace here we are.” This moving testimony from a catechumen was shared by video during the second Inter-Diocesan Clergy Dialogue. Priests and deacons from the Archdiocese of Winnipeg and the Archdiocese of St. Boniface gathered at the St. Boniface Diocesan Centre on October 1, 2026.

In a spirit of synodality, the clergy gathered to connect with one another and reflect on how parish communities can intentionally accompany catechumens and support their formation. Guided by Archdiocesan staff, participants exchanged ideas about inviting the whole parish community to walk alongside catechumens as they discern God’s call and grow into the life of the Church.

Please join us in praying for all catechumens as they continue to discern God’s call and prepare to enter more fully into the life of the Catholic Church. We also pray for the formation leaders and parish communities who faithfully accompany them on this journey of faith.

Save the date: Saturday, February 20, 2027. The faithful are warmly invited to join us for the Rite of Election during the 5 p.m. Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral. This beautiful and important moment marks a new step in the catechumens’ journey as they sign the Book of the Elect and publicly express their desire to follow Jesus fully in the Catholic Church. Come support them with your presence and prayers. All are welcome!
