Presentation on Blessed Carlo Acutis

The Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface is pleased to present a MUST-SEE FREE EVENT this fall. From September 16 to 30, 2025, our Archdiocese of Saint Boniface will welcome Mrs. Louise Normandeau, a retired schoolteacher and dedicated layperson, who will give presentations in their parishes to introduce Blessed Carlo Acutis. Carlo will be canonized the saint of our youth on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Have you ever heard about Blessed Carlo?

  • Carlo is an Italian teenager, born in 1991.
  • He loved video games, computer programming, and was even considered a ‘computer geek’. He played on a soccer team & then on a football team.
  • In 2006, at the age of 15, Carlo died of leukemia, a cancer of the blood cells.

What is so special about this young Carlo?

Beneath his ordinary exterior, Carlo developed a great love for Jesus in the Eucharist at an early age. Ever since his First Communion, he has been attending daily Mass.

  • Carlo was 12 years old when he researched and catalogued, on the internet, an exhibition of over 130 Eucharistic Miracles which occurred throughout history. Why? Carlo’s desire was to prove the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. The exhibition has been translated into 15 languages and is known worldwide.
  • After his death, a first miracle in 2013, the healing of a young child, was attributed to Carlo’s intercession.
  • In 2018, his body was exhumed and found to be ‘intact’. To this day, his body lies in Assisi, Italy.
  • Only 14 years after his death, Carlo was beatified ‘Blessed’ in 2020 by Pope Francis. This is considered exceptional.
  • A second miracle, the healing of a college student, was also recognized in May 2024. Pope Leo XIV has announced that Blessed Carlo will be canonized in 2025, making Carlo the first millennial Saint

St. Boniface Cathedral, Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm

Mrs. Normandeau personally knows Carlo’s family; her presentation will include: a short video, about the life of Carlo Acutis; a PowerPoint presentation about his life, his family, why he was canonized a saint; a guided visit, with explanations of the large poster boards of renown Eucharistic Miracles, and of the ‘intact body’ of Carlo; Veneration of a relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis.
