National Indigenous Peoples Day 2025
June 21st is National Indigenous Peoples Day – a day for recognizing and celebrating the deep history, heritage, and resilience of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples of Canada. As Canadian Catholics, we are encouraged to continue our education on the history of Indigenous Peoples – to listen to their stories and deepen our understanding. We also unite with them in prayer. Prayer is an essential aspect of both the Catholic faith and Indigenous spirituality. Let us pray for continued collaboration and healing together.
There are numerous events throughout the province to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day.
