Marriage Milestone Anniversary Celebration
“On Sunday, Oct. 27, as our faith community gathered at St. Mary’s Cathedral to partake in the Holy Eucharist, we were blessed to celebrate the importance of another sacred sacrament—the Sacrament of Matrimony.
The Marriage and Family Life Commission was delighted to celebrate this special Mass with 27 couples marking milestone anniversaries in their Sacrament of Matrimony—10, 25, 50, and 60+ years of marriage in the Catholic Church.
We know that marriage, like all vocations, can be challenging at times, which is why it’s so important for couples to continually renew their commitment to one another. Today’s celebration is not just a reminder to the couples themselves, but to all of us as a Church community, that marriage is a journey walked together—with God, with each other, and with the support of the Church. No couple is ever alone in this sacred vocation.
This vocation is a profound covenant, uniting husband and wife in a lifelong bond of love, through which they come to know and love one another and God more deeply. This sacred union is rightly celebrated in the context of the Church’s public liturgy, reminding us of God’s central role in marriage.
We extend our deepest thanks to Fr. Geoffrey Angeles and the St. Mary’s Cathedral community for hosting this joyful occasion
Most importantly, we thank our couples for their witness of enduring love, which serves as a shining example of God’s love for all of us. Your commitment and faithfulness are a true blessing.”
