Celebrating the Jubilee Locally – Jubilee of the Sick and Health Care Workers

From John Acosta, Director of Pastoral Services for the Archdiocese of Winnipeg
Throughout this Year of Jubilee, the Communications Services Office and the Pastoral Services Office hope to provide parishes with tangible resources to celebrate, promote and educate on the Year of Jubilee.
As you can see in this Calendar of Major Events, there is something for everyone to feel directly involved in this year – even if you cannot make a pilgrimage to Rome!
The document below is a heartfelt invitation from the Social Justice Commission, created as part of our Synod Implementation initiatives in the Archdiocese of Winnipeg. It offers a way for our parishes to participate in the 2025 Jubilee Year, particularly in celebrating the Jubilee of the Sick and Healthcare Workers. Rooted in the Jubilee theme, “Pilgrims of Hope,” this document provides prayers, actions, and resources to honour and support our communities’ sick, caregivers, and medical professionals.
It encourages us to be bearers of mercy and healing—whether through simple acts of kindness, heartfelt prayers, or community outreach. We invite you to embrace this opportunity to bring hope and compassion to those in need. Feel free to adapt these suggestions to reflect the needs of your parish, and together, let us be instruments of God’s love and healing. May God bless our efforts to celebrate this Jubilee Year!
