Inter-Diocesan RCIA Clergy Dialogue

“On September 12th, clergy from across the dioceses of Winnipeg and St. Boniface gathered for the Inter-Diocesan RCIA Clergy Dialogue. The Inter-diocesan clergy dialogue on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) yielded many fruitful insights, fostering a spirit of collaboration among the clergy. Participants engaged in thoughtful discussions about the challenges and opportunities within their respective parishes, considering best practices and innovative approaches to enhance the RCIA process. The meeting featured presentations by Archbishop Albert LeGatt and Archbishop Richard Gagnon on the topics respectively, “ The Historical, Local, Theological, and Liturgical Perspectives on RCIA” and “Catechumenal Culture: Embracing Conflict, Understanding Synodality, the Empowerment of Baptism”. By the end of this initial gathering it was evident that we consider the importance of creating a welcoming environment for catechumens, along with a commitment to ongoing formation for those involved in the RCIA ministry. The bishops and priests left the meeting energized and equipped with new strategies to enrich their communities, reinforcing their collective mission to guide new members into the Catholic faith.”
