Opening Mass for Jubilee 2025

Join Archbishop Gagnon at St. Mary’s Cathedral as we open the Jubilee Year!

Pope Francis has asked that there be no Holy Doors to open the Jubilee in each diocese, but an official opening at each Cathedral with the Bishop presiding. All clergy are invited to join the Bishop, and the faithful will be given a general invitation to participate. Holy Years are important spiritual events for the whole Church and occur every 25 years.

This is our schedule for the Opening of the Jubilee:

2:30 p.m. – The Faithful gather in the Cathedral Hall

3:00 p.m. – A short ceremony takes place in the hall with a reading of the Papal Decree for the Holy Year. Then people walk from the hall to the Cathedral as a sign of pilgrimage. Mass in honour of the Holy Family follows. Reception following Mass
