Have you ever been approached by a friend or relative to talk about his/her strained marital/long-term relationship? Do you know how to respond? Would you know how to have a conversation that could help a friend or relative better manage their strained relationship? Then this training course may be for you!
The Marital First Responders (MFR) training course is a great tool for using the power of existing personal networks to create healthier, happier and more stable relationships.  This workshop is suitable for those involved in couple and marital work, as well as anyone who would like to provide better personal help to friends and family members in emotional distress. Participants will learn the seven essential skills captured in two acronyms:
LEAP – Listen. Empathise. Affirm. Perspective.
CAR – Challenge. Advice. Resources.
The MFR Training Course is offered by the Archdiocese of Saint Boniface Marriage, Family & Life Office and the Marriage Family Life Team of St. Timothy Parish. It will be held Saturday, March 9th, in the St. Timothy Parish Hall from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Lunch will be provided. Cost: Free will donation. Registrations are required to attend.
