Lecture – Charity, Communion and Community: Christmas and Catholic Sensibility in John Ford’s 3 Godfathers (1948)
The Jesuit Centre for Catholic Studies is pleased to announce the next lecture in its popular Formations and Re-Formations in Catholic Thought series: “Charity, Communion and Community: Christmas and Catholic sensibility in John Ford’s 3 Godfathers (1948)” featuring Dr. Sue Matheson.
This lecture explores how 3 Godfathers portrays moral virtue and the spiritual nature of fatherhood, contrasting Ford’s approach with Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life in marrying Catholic sensibility to postwar Hollywood.
Free admission. All are welcome! Refreshments will be served.
