Episcopal Resignation and Appointment for the Archeparchy of Winnipeg

We are pleased to share this announcement from the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) regarding the appointment of a new Metropolitan Archbishop for the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Winnipeg.

Today, Pope Leo XIV accepted the resignation of Metropolitan Archbishop Lawrence Huculak, O.S.B.M., and appointed Bishop Michael Kwiatkowski, formerly Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of New Westminster, as the new Metropolitan Archbishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Winnipeg.

We are so grateful to Archbishop Huculak for his many years of faithful service and extend our prayers and congratulations to Archbishop-designate Kwiatkowski as he prepares to begin this new ministry in Winnipeg.
