Restorative Justice

Fear is a powerful emotion. This seems to be the source of building more prisons and handing out tougher sentences. Nowhere in the plans is there mention of rehabilitation. What happens to people who have been incarcerated once they are released? From present day information, many released offenders go back to jail because it is so difficult to be reintegrated into society. We pray the Our Father regularly and ask for forgiveness in the same way that we ourselves forgive. For all of us who find it impossible to give released offenders an opportunity at work or housing, subject to the same unforgiving attitude?
