  • Stations of the Cross at St. Vital Parish:

    Posted on April 3, 2018

For over 30 years there has been a Public Way of the Cross in the City of Winnipeg. These events draw large numbers of people on every Good Friday. This year St. Vital Parish and St. Maurice School sponsored the event with the organizing help of the Office of Youth Ministry for the Archdiocese. Many volunteers including the Knights of Columbus help as well. Hundreds of parishioners from many parishes walked a 2.5 km route, stopping for prayer and reflection along the way. The Winnipeg Police Department have been very helpful each year by allowing the pilgrims to access busy streets for their route.

With every stop along the way, a new group takes turns in carrying the Cross. The youth played a prominent part in this. As we turned a corner you can see many hundreds of people following.
