  • Confirmation Trail:

    Posted on June 5, 2017

I recently celebrated Confirmations at St. Patrick's Parish, St. John Brebeuf Parish and St. Mary's Cathedral. I have found that the young ‎people have been very well instructed and prepared during this Confirmation season. This is a compliment firstly to the parents who are the first teachers of their children in the faith, and a compliment to the  parish  catechists who supplement the parent's role.

Confirmations occurred at St. Patrick's Parish on the Feast of the. Visitation of the  Blessed Virgin Mary. This connected very well with the Confirmation theme of receiving the Gift of the Holy Spirit! Seen here below the image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help are two statues of Filippino Saints:   ‎On the left is Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, he was the first Filippino to be canonized and was a married lay Dominican of the Rosarian Connfraternity. He died during the persecution of Christians  at Nagasaki, Japan; on the right is Pedro Calungsod, a lay Catechist who was martyred on the Island of. Guam.
